South Philly in Sarasota

I love being a barber. I was a licensed barber in 1982 in South Philadelphia. Fast-forward to 2024 forty-something years later I can say I look forward to opening my business each day it puts tremendous joy in my heart. In one of my write-ups in a Philadelphia paper, many moons ago the writer wrote “She has a job that loves her back” And all these years later, it still holds. Today at the end of the day a gentleman came in who used to live in South Philly. We reminisced about the city and the bread! Italians & bread; its a thing :) By the time we finished our visit, I made a new friend and we shared many smiles. He was very happy with his haircut and he too truly enjoyed our visit. It’s amazing to be a barber in Sarasota & I have no plans to ever retire Even after 40-something years, I love it more every day! Happy Birthday Joe B!!!
